- As part of our district improvement plan, I prepared and presented a hands-on workshop for faculty and staff to design and build individual websites for their classes/duties. I trained the participants in the use of NVU/KompoZer open-source web authoring software. Provided links to media sources for use within the webpages. During hands-on activity, all participants created webpages. Most chose to create multiple-page websites to use with their classes/activities.
• Interactive Multimedia & PowerPoint – Savoy High School – Mid-August 2008
- As an extension to my SmartBoard presentation, I had created and presented a session on the creation, use and integration of Multimedia materials and interactive PowerPoints. I demonstrated how to locate and use public-domain and education-licensed media for use in their lessons. Demonstrated how to create and use interactive PowerPoints. I provided resources, also, where the participants could locate and download Interactive PowerPoint templates and pre-made Interactive PowerPoints, as well as multimedia sources.
• Interactive Whiteboard Use & Integration – Savoy High School – Mid-August 2008
- Using Smart Technologies’ SmartBoard, I demonstrated various capabilities and uses of this technology and how it could be integrated into classes to better engage students. Also, demonstrated how to use the SmartBoard with the students for independent and whole-group practice. All faculty involved rated this session as either 4/5 or 5/5.
• Site-Based Improvement Team – Texas A&M University-Commerce – Curriculum and Instruction Class, Major Project (Over 50% of final grade)
- Using data from a real Texas school, I led a team of six members to create a plan to help that school improve their performance ratings, and their students’ success. This plan was one of three (6 teams in the class) that the professor chose to send to the named school for their consideration in creating their own improvement plans. Rated 98% by the professor.
