Some Novels I'd Like to Teach
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - Excellent lessons for life, exciting for the students, provokes a lot of thought and discussions

Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz - Engaging, teaches empathy and other life lessons, often gets students talking about current issues facing our nation and our world

Remnants: The Mayflower Project by K.A. Applegate - Engaging for many students, gets them thinking about tough questions that are sometimes required in life

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - Engages minds of all ages, requires logical thinking, and a great story

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley - Great to teach as a theme novel, gets students thinking about some of the "evils" and problems facing people today, such as drug use

Eragon by Christopher Paolini - Teaches responsibility, growing up, logical thinking, and other great life lessons

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbry - Teaches the necessity for citizen involvement in government and the dangers of a lack of proper learning and logical thinking.
